Silicon Valley StRUT (Students Recycling Used Technology)

Information from previous years STRUT Competition can be found on the Competition Options.  The STRUT Competition for students ranging from middle school to high school consists of four parts:

• Disassemble and Reassemble A Computer
• Create and Present a Powerpoint Presentation
• Computer Parts Identification and Challenge Test 
• Team Quiz Bowl on Computer Technology and Related Subjects

Disassemble and Re-assemble A Computer

Each team will approach a known good system with the Windows Desktop displayed.  The team will shut down the power properly and disassemble the computer completely in the presence of several judges.  A few minutes later upon judges evaluation and scoring, the team is given the OK to reassemble the computer completely. After the  judges evaluation and scoring, the team must create a Powerpoint  presentation describing their experiences in this part of the competition and present it to the judges and be scored.  The amount time for this whole process is 45 minutes.
