StRUT - About CETA

The StRUT - CETA Alliance

The California Engineering and Technology Alliance (CETA) is responsible for statewide redistribution, curriculum development and standardization, resource development, leadership, communications and marketing. CETA is a consortium of the state regional consortia leaders and thereby represents each of the regional consortia.

The regional consortia consist of the local community colleges, ROPs, StRUT High Schools and their feeder middle schools. The regional consortia are responsible for local resource development, donation storage and distribution, leadership, communications and educational articulation and workforce development. Each regional consortium is responsible for it’s own regional industry partnerships and StRUT donation center.

The StRUT program needs organizational structure to identify responsibilities and support mechanisms.

:The California Engineering and Technology Alliance (CETA) is a statewide consortium comprised of members representing key regional efforts in advancing Engineering and Engineering Technology curricular pathways. Its members are dedicated business and education professionals with the common goal of developing a highly skilled workforce in the above career interest area.

Acting to focus resources and best practices, CETA will provide a global benefit to all affiliated groups in developing standards in business and education. The vision will be driven by the needs of industry and implemented in a real-time fashion by front-line educators throughout all levels of the system. Results will be evidenced by a prepared and qualified workforce, continually receiving upgrades as industry requirements change.

CETA's mission is to unite and promote the efforts of education, community and industry in order to effect continuous improvement in developing engineering and technology curriculum to produce an increased number of qualified potential employees in the promotion of the economic development needs of California.

CETA's primary objectives are:

1. To develop a pipeline that yields qualified future employees who meet industry standards.

2. To partner with industry and educators in promoting systemic change in California Department of Education policy.

3. To set a vision to be implemented by front-line educators.

4. To act as a clearinghouse for best practices, resources, education and knowledge in Engineering and Engineering Technology.

5. To act as a focal point for regions to standardize curriculum, delivery systems and support mechanisms.

6. To increase the viability of regional consortia through program development.
