The 2002 study reveals in 1970/80 the Silicon Valley had 147
Technology Teachers teaching 735 sections of technology. Today
that number is down to 33 teachers teaching only 165 sections
of Technology. That is a 77.6% reduction in manufacturing related
course offerings. That equates to 17,100 less students educated
in manufacturing technology annually. Further extrapolation
means 598,500 less technology trained graduates for the 2005
Silicon Valley workforce.
