How to Become a Silicon Valley StRUT School Alliance Member

Schools interested in becoming a StRUT member need to meet the following criteria:

1. Understand the California StRUT Policies, Procedures and Organization Chart.
2. Is a K-14 Public School/ROP
3. Attend and participate at the monthly Silicon Valley StRUT Alliance meetings
4. Provide a dedicated technology teacher
5. Provide a secure space for storage of equipment
6. Has the ability to pick up materials from distribution centers
7. Will advertise for student interest
8. Has a connection for Internet access
9. Keeps accurate records of inventory, inspections and data collection
10. Establish site goals and identify measures to meet them
11. Continually refine course and program, communicate revisions to the Silicon Valley StRUT office
12. Share lesson plans with school partners
13. Teach ethics in computing (integrated into daily curriculum)
14. Solicit local and state political support for your program
15. Solicit donations from public and private sectors
16. Recruit at least one industrial, contributing partner per each site
17. Must comply with and sign the separate StRUT Security MOU
 



 StRUT School Alliance Members need to follow specific procedures that are included in the StRUT Procedures Manual, as well as provide a quarterly status report on Program Data and Students Served.
